THE PUNTERS POLITICS POLITICAL FUNDRAISING DINNER!
THE MISSION: We hosted the first-ever Punters' Political Fundraiser to democratise political access. The goal: raise enough money from regular punters to hire our own federal lobbyist to fight for our interests in Parliament House, just like big corporations do.
THE UPDATE: The event was a sold-out success, bringing punters and politicians together. We are very close to our initial $75,000 fundraising goal. An anonymous donor is matching all contributions from the night, and through live polling, punters have already voted "No more free cash for billionaires" as the top priority for our future lobbyist.
WHY IT MATTERS: This directly tackles the core problem of 'cash for access' in our democracy. If only the wealthy can afford to lobby politicians, our government stops working for everyone else. By pooling our resources, we're creating a new, transparent model where power answers to people, not just deep pockets.

THE SCAM: The Labor government, after commissioning a $176,000 report into 'jobs for mates' political appointments, has refused for two years to release its findings, despite the Senate twice ordering its release.
THE DAMAGE: This secrecy undermines democratic transparency and accountability, allowing both major parties to continue stacking government boards and tribunals with political allies, rather than appointing the best person for the job.
THE COVER-UP: When pressured by Senator David Pocock's tactic to disrupt Senate proceedings, a Labor minister flipped the script, accusing male opposition members of "yelling at a woman" asking a question. This masterfully shifted the narrative from Labor's secrecy to gender politics, deflecting attention from the hidden report.
